Note that this configuration is currently non-functional due to an old version of OpenVPN software in the TP-Link routers.
My basic requirements were (while living in the UK)
So the overall schematic was this...
Device | Hardware version | Software version |
---|---|---|
EAP225 | v3.0 | 5.1.0 |
EAP230-Wall | v1.0 | 3.1.1 |
TL-SG2210P | v5.0 | 5.0.6 |
ER7206 | v1.0 | 1.3.0 |
OC200 | 1.0 | 1.26.3 |
This means 3 Wi-Fi SSIDS (on the same channels), the UK SSID is attached to the untagged LAN, while USA and New Zealand go to VLANS
First we create the VLAN, in this case for USA I use VLAN tag 10
Note that each VLAN needs its own IP interface and I also provide a set of IP addresses. Each of the VLANs (USA and NewZealand) need different VLAN ids and IP address ranges.
Now we need to create an OpenVPN client for each VLAN. I use VyprVPN but any service provider should work.
Make sure that the only the Local Network (VLAN) for this destination is selected
Finally, create WiFi SSID for wach destination and make sure that it is 'attached' to the VLAN
Thats all there is to it... Switching between Wifi networks will make your device appear in different locations
